#GOSSIPING 29.04.2019

Did you know that many scientists believe it was the art of social gossip that first set us apart from the other animals? That’s how we formed intimate groups and learned more about the important things in life. We’d like to continue that tradition in our area of expertise, so here’s just a taste of what’s happened this week in the world of marketing:

Clever campaigns: Ikea for walkers

If you build an environmentally sustainable store, how would you want people to get there, driving? No. You want them to walk, and that’s exactly what Ikea is encouraging shoppers to do to reach their sustainable location in London’s Greenwich neighborhood. The key to this campaign is the ads placed around the area by Ikea directing people to the store and telling them how many steps they have to go from that specific sign.

Ikea has also got the city of London on board and the signs include alternative public transit routes that can be taken to the store. More than anything, however, these ads are helping Ikea build an environmentally-friendly profile in an interactive way. And how do walkers get their purchases home? Costs for delivery for anyone living up to 40 minutes away have been more than halved.

Tools of the trade: YouTube

Though originally conceived as a convenient video-hosting site, YouTube has become much more. With channels, quality content creators and Google’s search engine and monetization methods, YouTube has become more like a full-blown entertainment system, and that means it’s becoming more and more important to marketers.

Not only is YouTube great for hosting your videos and getting them shared across social networks, but it’s also important to optimize your videos for search to get found on YouTube as well, where ever more people are heading for the dose of entertainment. A strong YouTube presence can bring in more customers and grow your business like never before.

Why you still need Twitter lists

Lists on Twitter? What’s that? Why? Well, believe it or not, if you’re overlooking this feature of the popular social media platform, you may be missing out on some important opportunities. What exactly? We’ll just direct you to this article on why Twitter lists are still a great tool for B2B marketers. Thank us later.
